This month with our Wild Mama Voices event “Mothering Beyond the Binary,” I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Helen Stewart an elder with 8 decades of wisdom worth sharing. She spoke about from an early age knowing that she stood outside the bounds of what was deemed “normal” and how that translated to her parenting when she unexpectedly became a non-birth mother. She spoke about her perseverance despite hardships and ultimately the importance of discovering and knowing ones-self. You won’t want to miss this emotional discussion.
